An Amazon plane veers off the runway in Miami

 An Amazon cargo Boeing 767 crashed while landing at Miami Airport on Sunday afternoon.


The incident resulted in at least five fatalities, according to official sources.




How did the accident happen?


Amazon Prime Air flight 7698, operated by 21 Air, departed from Puerto Rico and touched down in Miami around 2:00 p.m. local time. It landed on the airport's diagonal runway but came to a stop to the northwest, having gone beyond the airport's perimeter.


As it exited the airport grounds, the aircraft—which was over 30 years old—struck several vehicles, including a truck.


Within minutes, a plume of smoke was visible from various parts of Miami.


Five people have been confirmed dead as a result of the crash.


Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.


Amazon offered its condolences to the victims, stated that the aircraft was operated by 21 Air, and indicated that it would cooperate with the authorities to clarify the incident.
